John Hadfield lives in Newark Delaware. He graduated from
Conrad High School, where he played a year of soccer (second string
goalie behind Roderick Cheese), wrestled and played baseball.
He attended the University of Delaware, playing rugby, getting a
degree in Russian language, and discovering the art of clowning and
circus skills.
John enlisted in the army, and during basic training was procured by
the White House Communications Agency, working with President Carter
in the White House, and playing an important role at the Bonn
Summit, the Tokyo Summit and the Begin-Sadat peace talks at Camp
David.
John auditioned and was accepted at the Ringling Bros. Clown College
in 1982, then traveled two years with the Royal Lichtenstein Circus,
and then
back to Delaware, performing as Crash the Clown, with Chris
Shelton in The Crash Brothers, and landing several interesting
commercial modeling jobs and acting roles. John’s most
prestigious (fun) acting job was a principal role in the movie
Gettysburg, where he had a speaking part in a scene with Jeff
Daniels.
John spends his free time competing in dog agility with his (Akita)
dog Kenny, is a black belt in aikido, and ski races with the
Wilmington Ski Club. Besides Crash the Clown and The Crash
Brothers, John performs The Science Show and his newest program -
John Hadfield in Concert.
